DeadlockCoach

First-install download for testers. Windows only.

Before you download

Windows will warn you — this is expected

There is no installer — you download a ZIP, unpack it, and run the app from wherever you put it. This build is unsigned (no paid code-signing certificate yet), so Windows SmartScreen will show a blue "Windows protected your PC" dialog the first time you run it. That is normal for an unsigned app from a small developer — it does not mean anything is wrong or broken. Here is exactly what you'll see and what to click:

  1. Click "More info" (small text link, easy to miss).
  2. A "Run anyway" button appears — click it.
  3. The app starts normally from then on.

This happens once, for this copy. The app updates itself after that, and updates never show this dialog — they arrive through the app rather than through your browser.

Installing it — the whole thing

  1. Download DeadlockCoach.zip below.
  2. Right-click the ZIP → Properties → tick "Unblock" → OK. Optional, but it saves you a second warning later.
  3. Right-click the ZIP → Extract All… → Extract. It unpacks into a folder called DeadlockCoach. Put it anywhere you can write to — your user folder or Desktop is fine. Not C:\Program Files: the app is portable and updates itself in place, which needs a writable folder.
  4. Run DeadlockCoach\DeadlockCoach.exe and click through the SmartScreen dialog above.
  5. On first launch it downloads about 1.2 GB of coaching models in the background. The app is usable straight away; the coaching features switch on when that finishes and tell you where they are up to.

To uninstall: delete the folder. Parsed replays live in %LOCALAPPDATA%\DeadlockCoach and can go too.
